I've been busy the last few months getting everything prepared for the trip. I had to find a place for the dogs to live, rent out the extra bedrooms in our house, train someone to take over my job, store the vehicles, we sold our house and it's in escrow! Very busy...
The dogs are settled at Like Home Boarding in Temecula, CA. We dropped them off yesterday, and at first I was so busy with all the business side of things, it didn't really sink in that I would be dog-less on the way home and from there on out for the next four months. Spending the night in the house without them last night, coming home without them there to greet me, waking in the morning without them at the foot of the bed, I keep seeing 'ghosts' of them around the house! Aside from not having them underfoot, not having to feed and walk them, not having to pick up poop - I really miss them. I didn't realize how much!
We leave in one week and will fly to Orlando, FL... where we'll start the journey.

What we're doing...
Our family is about to start an adventure. We're getting ready to travel the US and find the best place for us to live. My husband and I have lived in Southern California together for the last 27 years and we were both born and raised here in Los Angeles. We've raised our kids in Manhattan Beach and more recently in Marina Del Rey. But, I've been restless... I want to see the states and find out what's out there first-hand. We're going to pack into an RV and travel the US in one big loop. Along the way we'll decide on the perfect spot to live.
